


John Harrison retired in 2022 after 31 years as information officer at the Northwest Power and Conservation Council, a Portland-based regional energy and fish/wildlife planning agency.
Before that he was a reporter and copy editor at several Pacific Northwest newspapers including 10 years at The Columbian.
Currently he is a columnist for the energy/fish/wildlife weekly newsletter Clearing Up, published in Seattle, and an occasional contributor to the online environmental publication Columbia Insight, published in Hood River.
John is also active as a member of the board of directors of Friends of the Columbia Gorge.
John is a graduate of Washington State University (Pullman, Communications) and the University of Oregon (MA Journalism). He and his wife, Dawn live in Vancouver.
